RVA School Board Candidate Forum 2016

Moderator KENYA GIBSON She is a product of public education and attended schools in both high poverty and highly affluent neighborhoods. During grade school she was in the minority because her mother is white. Later she attended schools where she was in the minority because her father is black. She’s passionate about the value of school integration and has been active the Support Richmond Public School advocacy effort to increase funding for city schools.

She moved to Virginia to attend William and Mary where she studied Economics and Fine Art. She has a masters degree in Architecture from Yale University and now works in marketing. She has two children at Linwood Holton Elementary School where she is Vice President of the PTA.
